Pancreatic Cancer Action Network needs folks to take a stand for pancreatic cancer awareness to advance research, support patients and create hope for those affected by this devastating illness.
At this time of year, when we here at HingeHeads are laser-focused on thanks-giving and community, we’ve decided to donate:
Jonathan Parker, who is leading this event through his group, the Kent-Sjostedt Family Legacy fund, has lost two loved ones to this terrible disease and is committed to helping increase funding for research for this vastly underfunded condition.
All proceeds he raises go directly to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, a small, non-profit that was founded in 1999 and has a national presence in Manhattan Beach, CA. No one can explain their goal better than they do:
Survival rates for pancreatic cancer have remained in the single digits for more than 40 years. Today, the five-year relative survival rate remains at just 6 percent. We intend to double the survival rate by the year 2020 by accelerating the application of our proven comprehensive approach to fighting the disease — combining research, providing support for individuals and families living with the disease, raising awareness, and building and sustaining federal support.
So please join PanCan.org, Jonathan, and the HingeHead family in helping to raise awareness and make a difference!
